Indiana Black Expo Announces Vice President of Development

 Indianapolis, INIndiana Black Expo is proud to announce and welcome Rochelle Jerry to the leadership team in the role as Vice President of Development. As the VP of Development, Rochelle is responsible for fundraising and development. Rochelle will assist the organization in the following areas:

  • Help forge new relationships to build IBE’s visibility, impact and financial resources;
  • Work with IBE’s national consultant, TCC Group, and IBE’s President & CEO to design a comprehensive plan for developing key external alliances by cultivating, soliciting and stewarding philanthropic support from individuals, corporations and foundations across the country;
  • Have primary responsibility for establishing and implementing the infrastructure needed to grow IBE’s budget through major gifts, grants, special events, corporate and foundation support; and
  • Expand and diversify IBE’s donor base/pipeline and work closely with other senior team members to secure funding for new initiatives.

Rochelle comes with broad experience in cultural and organizational development as well as community strategic partnerships. She is an  industry expert with over twenty years of nonprofit professional experience working directly with a variety of communities, Board of Directors and committees in an assortment of roles. Recently, she managed the development strategy for The American Society of Plastic Surgeons and The Plastic Surgery Foundation raising $3.9M annually for education, grants and research. Rochelle has a B.A. from DePaul University in Marketing, executive leadership & fundraising development training from Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy, and public relations training from Porter Novelli and Ketchum Companies. Rochelle is also active in the Association Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and serves on the Nominating, Membership IDEA, and Governance Committees as well as Fundraising Effectiveness Project Research Advisory Group, and the Chicago Chapter Board of Directors and Peer Mentoring Committee.

Rochelle is enthusiastic to join the IBE family and is looking forward to working with the state-wide community.

Rochelle is married to William, and they have a seven-year-old daughter, Paulena.
