AmplifyU Institute is a 12-week leadership development program designed to empower youth across Marion County. Forty students will be selected to participate in weekly 75-minute workshops led by prominent community leaders. Sessions are interactive and youth-centered, using discussion, role-play, team activities, and project-based learning

Program Details
Program Format: In-person
Start Date: Saturday, March 14
Time: 2:30 pm
Program Length: 12 weeks
Session Schedule: Weekly sessions, 75 minutes each
Final presentation during the Youth Leadership Summit, Saturday, July 18.
To apply, students must:
- Be 14–19 years old and enrolled in a middle or high school in Marion County.
- Submit a completed application, including:
- Short-answer questions
- One recommendation form
- Commit to attending at least 10 of the 12 sessions, completing assignments, and presenting at the Youth Leadership Summit.

Want to Be A Volunteer Facilitator?
AmplifyU Institute Youth Leadership Program
Purpose
Indiana Black Expo seeks qualified community leaders, professionals, educators, and subject-matter experts to serve as volunteer facilitators for AmplifyU Institute—a 12-week youth leadership development program serving students ages 14–19 in Marion County.
Facilitators will design and deliver one 75-minute workshop that is interactive, youth-centered, and aligned to program themes.
Application Due Date: February 6, 2026, with selections on February 20th.
IBE is seeking facilitators for the following areas:
- Public Speaking & Effective Communication
- Strategic Thinking & Problem Solving
- Civic Systems & Local Government 101
- Social Justice & Community Advocacy
Community Leadership & Historical Legacy
- Policy Change & Project Design
- Teamwork, Conflict Resolution & Facilitation
- Youth Engagement & Experiential Learning
Selected facilitators will:
- Develop a 75-minute workshop (materials included).
- Incorporate interactive methods: discussions, role-play, group activities, hands-on learning.
- Provide 1–2 follow-up resources for students.
- Collaborate with IBE program staff to ensure content alignment.
- Participate in a brief facilitator orientation in March 2026.
- Demonstrated expertise in one or more topic areas
- Prior experience working with youth ages 14–19
- Commitment to equity, empowerment, and community-centered leadership
- Strong facilitation, communication, and youth engagement skills
